In the Horological Museum of the Saarland you will find more than 1,000 objects in relation to watches, watchmaking and traditional watchmaking art. The museum gives you a review of the past 4,000 years of time-measuring devices. Competent explanations will be given by the members of the association “Friends of the old watchmaker’s art”.

Fire, water, sand and sun are the ‘elements’ which operated the first time-measuring. In front of the museum you will find a garden of sundials. Inside we show elementary watches in a unique variety. Nearly 500 wheel clocks – tower clocks, artistic clocks, pocket watches and wristwatches – show the development of this type of watches. Beside the complete, historical workshop of the family Frantz, some hundred watches, watch pieces and watchmaker’s tools are on display.
